All you need to know about cleansing: Part 1

You've probably never thought of it this way but cleansing is a VITAL first step for preparing your skin for what comes next. Here's the most important thing to remember: If you blow through cleansing, whatever you pile on next isnít going to do much good. Here are three tips to make the most of your cleansing no matter what your age.

1. Take your time and choose a cleanser that suites your skin.

2. Use two different cleansers, one for summer and one for winter. In the winter skin is drier and dehydrated, summertime we sweat more and produce more oil. With that in mind, use a gentler product in the winter, and in summer, stronger ingredients.

3. Depending on your age you may need to make adjustments in how often you cleanse. Younger skin can be cleansed twice a day with not much problem. However, as we age and the skin dries out and it is necessary to drop to once a day at night and in the morning swipe toner over your face and follow with the rest of your protocol.
